Suspiria by Reverend Jesse Pritchard
Reverend Jesse here and I just watched the Suspiria Blue-ray on 4k. The film does look good as it was shot on a three-strip Technicolor and I love that 1970s look. The story doesn’t make any sense though as many of you Argento fans already know. What really stands out about this stylish flick is the casting of Jessica Harper. Most horror aficionados rave about her role in this but in my eyes she remains one of the weirdest oddities of 1970s cinema. Harper has these eyes that bug out so far you’d think that she was a puppet or doll coe to life. Still, it was good casting on the part of Argento as anyone whose ever been to drama class knows that acting is all about the eyes…And Harper has some seriously buggy pair of peepers.
