Julienne Davis was born on September 26, 1963, in Los Angeles, California. Raised in Southern California, she showed early artistic ambition and left home at seventeen to pursue a career in classical ballet in New York City. After discovering she was considered too tall for corps de ballet auditions, she redirected her focus toward fashion modeling, a move that would open the door to an international career. Davis is of Yankton Sioux heritage.
Before transitioning into acting, Davis worked extensively as a fashion model, appearing in print, editorial, and catalog work. She was featured in prominent campaigns and publications, including work for lingerie brands and high-profile calendars, establishing a strong presence in the modeling world during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Davis expanded into music in the early 1990s, becoming one half of the short-lived duo Drive, alongside Melanie Blatt. The group released the single “Curfew” in 1993. Music remained an ongoing creative outlet for Davis, and she later became co-writer, co-producer, and lead vocalist for the band Sophisticated Savage, blending her performance background with songwriting and production.
Her acting career includes both film and television roles in the United States and the United Kingdom. She appeared as Mandy in Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut and had roles in films such as Tabloid and House of 9. On television, she appeared in series including The Bill and was a main cast member of the British comedy-drama Too Much Sun. She also appeared in commercial advertising, including a notable campaign for Carling beer.
In later years, Davis became increasingly vocal about her political and personal beliefs. In 2016, she wrote publicly about her conservative views and her experience holding those views within the entertainment industry. She identifies as a Christian and has been described as one of the more prominent conservative voices working in Hollywood.
Julienne Davis currently resides in Pasadena, California, with her husband, Jay Strongman. Her career reflects a multifaceted creative path spanning dance, modeling, music, acting, and writing, shaped by both artistic ambition and personal conviction.
